"Iron Goddess" is perhaps the most famous and popular Oolong tea from China. The name, if translated in full, is "Iron Goddess of Mercy". In Buddhism theory, Goddess of Mercy is a pure representation of benevolence, caring and forgiveness. She has many different incarnations, and most often seen as a young lady.

Iron Goddess Oolong is one of my favorite tea. If we compare green tea to white wine, and black tea to red wine, then oolong is the rosy pink type. The tea is made from the bush variety known as Iron Goddess that grows in Southern Fujian province. This variety of tea tree yields juicy and fleshy leaves.

The tea Iron Goddess has a shape like tadpoles. This unique appearance is result for intricate processes. The best quality iron goddess could be brewed for 7 rounds, with the best serves being the 2nd and 3rd brew. The tea liqour has a lasting flowery fragrance, which praised by tea fans as the flavor of Chinese Orchid flower, a flower honored by the Chinese people for its heavenly aroma.
A good Oolong ritual could brew the best out of your Iron Goddess, while improper handling might spoil its taste. Strongly recommend to use Yingxi purple clay teapot.
